A good Dirk review ... A bad Dirk review ... The Mavs on TV - and DB.com on TV, too! ... A smart and spirited parlor game on DB.com Boards!... Rick Carlisle, new guards Calderon and Ellis, and 'The Circle of Life' ... Monday Morning Mavs Donuts!

During the regular season, FOX Sports Southwest will air a total of 79 Mavericks games starting with the season opener against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, Oct. 30. All 79 games can be seen in high definition on FSSW-HD. ... and DallasBasketball.com is proud to announce that for the fourth straight season, we will be part of the FOX telecasts, as I'll be busy picking out ties in preparation for my work as a studio analyst.

DONUT 2: Would you watch "Nash''? ...

A documentary is being made. It stars Steve Nash. One description of it goes as follows: "a Steve Nash documentary with Owen Wilson giving a quirky take that Nash's name sounded like an action hero ...''

Let's have an advanced look ...

DONUT 3: "Breaking Bad'' ...

You'll excuse me for puffing my chest after last night's "Breaking Bad,'' when it was revealed that my "Black vs. White'' theory might just be dead-on. Enjoy last week's review and give me a few hours to cook up my take on "Granite State.''

DONUT 4: Follow the Mavs on Twitter ...

Follow the Mavs on Twitter: Mike Fisher, Chuck Perry , David Lord and Michael Dugat keep you up-to-the-minute informed on all things Mavs!

DONUT 5: A good Dirk review ...

On DB.com Boards, we're discussing Dirk's ranking as the 16th best player in the NBA and the third best at his position. (By the way, Monte is at 68, Calderon is at 70, Vince is at 86, and Marion is at 92.) Kicking around exactly where these guys belong on some list is part of the way we twiddle our offseason thumbs (Vince is better than Trix?) but as long as The UberMan is treated with the appropriate respect, we can talk and even disagree in a civil manner.

DONUT 6: A bad Dirk review ...

But when Dirk Nowitzki is ranked as just the fifth best Euro ever -- and the voting is done by Euros! -- we cannot hide our disgust for the thinking or the process or the bias.

And we have little doubt the Euro vote smells like hairy lady arm pits and cigarettes.

DONUT 7: "Reservoir Mavs'' ...

Meet the "Reservoir Mavs'' ...

DONUT 10: Carlisle's Circle ...

How do thousands of Mavs Premium Insiders get ready for the start of training camp? They hear exclusive stuff from coach Rick Carlisle!

FISH: Do you think this year's backcourt will require a different approach from you? If only because Monta Ellis and Jose Calderon have some skins on the wall?

RICK: "Now it's a new bunch of new guys and a new bunch of relationships. You're right; Calderon and Ellis are established guys. They've been stars in this league, they have logged the time.

"So we'll work on those relationships. And it will be a good thing. It's the 'Circle of Life' in the NBA.''
