Mavs 108, Nuggets 105: Video Quoteboard

The Mavs, coach Rick Carlisle says, 'reside in kind of an altered state of zaniness.' We've got that and more in the Mavs Video Quoteboard, featuring Dirk Nowitzki, Vince Carter, OJ Mayo and Carlisle talking about Dallas' 108-105 overtime victory on Friday over Denver.

We're in the Dallas Mavericks locker room following Friday's OT win over Denver at the AAC ...

"Three more to go,'' says Dirk

"Honestly, I try to play the end of the season out strong and win the next game for coach,'' said Dirk Nowitzki, who had 22 points, 10 rebounds and is now 10 points shy of 25,000 for his career. "Whether it's a preseason game or regular season game, I do my regular routine, I stretch and get in my nap. Once I go out there, it's fun, I try to win and go out there and compete. We got three games left and we have to go for them. We will keep competing the way we did today, we got down a little bit and came back.''

"I live to ball,'' says Vince

"I just live to play basketball,'' said Vince Carter, who contributed 22 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, two blocked shots and a steal in 34 minutes. "It kind of bothered when my love for the game was questioned. I'm glad (Mark Cuban) believed in me and my ability two years ago. I'm going to do whatever I have to do for this team whether it was come up as a starter or play limited minutes. I don't let my age determine how I approach the game and my love for it. This is one little example of it and I'm very appreciative of how they believe in me and the way I play the game. I still love playing ball and I'm psyched to be here."

"We got an extra five minutes,'' says OJ

What was OJ Mayo's mindset as he tried to overcome late-game errors with late-game makes?

"Just keep playing hard," Mayo said. "Even though we made some mistakes down the stretch, it didn't cost us the game. Just got an extra five minutes and go out there and get the win."

Carlisle on the "zany Mavs''

"We reside in kind of an altered state of zaniness, our team,'' coach Rick Carlisle said. "It's just kind of been that way. It's never easy, it's a bit of an adventure, but they're good guys and they're trying. Their trying.''
