How much does Vince want to stay in Dallas? See my 1-on-1 Video Visit for yourself. What's Dirk's pitch to Deron? We've got that video, too. Is Cuban making a salesman's error by being in LA today? What does Michael Finley have to do with the business of the day? We've got it all, right here, in Monday Mavs Donuts!

DONUT 1: The leader of the pack ...
The leader of the Dallas Mavericks' DeronQuest recruiting party today will be none other than one Richard Preston Carlisle. With a name like that, you've got to figure he knows his way around an East Hamptons country club, eh?
Not planning to be in attendance when the Mavs court Deron Williams today is
Dirk Nowitzki. Why? Dirk's already said his piece. Here's Dirk's full five-minute presser on that subject and more:
Dirk didn't want a dog-and-pony show when he re-upped here. I find it fascinating that he's essentially sending a message to Deron that is coded the same way.
Cuban's also not there. Stationed instead in LA. Is that where I'd be? No. Does Cuban need my advice (or yours) on how to oversee a multi-million-dollar sales pitch?
No.
DONUT 2: Also pitching (and catching) ...
Donnie Nelson joins Rick in NY. Also there: Ex-Mavs great Michael Finley.
Why is that significant?
It's covered in great detail in "DeronQuest - The Essentials For The Mavs Meeting, From A-To-Z.'' You'll find Finley under "F.''
Whle in NY, Rick also had dinner with C.J. Miles, who wants to play in his hometown of Dallas. Oh, and an SMU assistant coach is all smiles today, too. And World Wide West is whispering from his BatCave, too.
What's that all mean? Premium Mavs Fans know ...
DONUT 3: Charles on Dirk: 'Dude, Who The Hell Are You?' ...
Barkley holds court in the Heroes Baseball clubhouse, telling the story of the first time he met the teenage Dirk:
DONUT 4: Welcome to DallasBasketball.com Premium ...

DONUT 5: Meanwhile, where is Mikhail Prokhorov? ...
Last time I checked, Nyets owner Mikhail Prokhorov was in his native land, starting a political party and planning a run for President.
Seriously.
This can change (these dudes have jets!) but I wouldn't be shocked if Mikhail Prokhorov wasn't at his franchise's biggest business meeting EVER. He might be in Russia somewhere jet-skiing with Anna Karenina, or blowing his nose on $1,000 bills or maybe letting his basketball people handle this matter today.
It's quite likely, you know, that Mikhail Prokhorov and Mark Cuban have both already conducted pre-Monday meetings with agent Jeff Schwartz, and that today is more about "coaching-level'' talk. Right?
DONUT 6: How badly does Vince want to say with the Mavs? ...
Here, check out my one-on-one DB.com Video Visit with Vince Carter, Vince Carter, who tells me he wishes to remain a Mav:
DONUT 7: Follow Fish and the Mavs on Twitter! ...
DONUT 8: The Mavs and Michael Beasley? You mean the druggie kid? ...
Let's defer for a moment to DB.com contributor Chuck Cooperstein, who raves about the failed T'Wolves power forward, remembering how dominant he was in college, noting that he's just 23 and believing that the Mavs culture could do him some good.
"If it's between Anthony Randolph or Beasley, give me Beasley,'' Coop says. "He's just 23. H's got all that untapped talent. He knows how to score. The Mavs need all of that.''
There is a knucklehead factor here, of course. But the "Seal Of Cooproval'' counts for plenty to me.
DONUT 9: DB.com on the radio this week ...
I'm joining Mark Elfenbein this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, co-hosting the 10-2 midday show on 105.3 The Fan. Breaking Mavs news, Cowboys insights, Elf stories, you name it ... be listening July 4 through July 6th this week on 105.3 The Fan!
DONUT 10: The 200-Inch TV screen! ...
The gang at Red Rock Bar & Grill know how to throw a party, that's all I'm sayin'. Live music, sports on the big-big-big screen, and crazy love for the Mavs. What more do you want?
DONUT 11: Early recruiting of B-Roy ...
We've got the scoop on the Mavs and B-Roy here, and as intrigued as I am, I'm not ignoring the Michael Dugat-dig-up factoid that over his final 27 regular-season games in 2010-11, he scored 20-plus points once and five-or-less points 11 times.
Meaning, I think, a complete reinvention of not just his knees but also a complete reinvention of his game. But B-Roy, somewhat healthy? And then you chase a Camby and a Beasley or a Randolph ... and you've got Dirk and Marion upfront ... and (hopefully) Deron running the backcourt ... maybe another good vet or two for the minimum ... that's a solid bunch, right?
DONUT 12: The Final Word ...
It remains "exploratory,'' but yeah, Josh Howard is getting some interest from the Mavs. Remember, Josh thinks of Dallas as "home.'' Has a home here. Loves it here.
That's not my "endorsement.'' I still do have ringing in my ears his infinitely fake-zen comment made to me in May of 2008, when everything was going wrong after the Mavs had just lollygagged their way to a Round 1 loss to New Orleans.
"You can't control what the ball do,'' J-Ho told me. "It's crazy, man. Y'all hilarious.''
