DONUT 1: Fish on 105.3 The Fan's RAGE all week! ...
I'm proud to announce that with Greggo taking a short leave from RAGE (2-to-7 daily on 105.3 The Fan), he and Richie Whitt and the gang have asked me to sit in for a week or so.
We'll start it up Tuesday, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and I'd love to have you join us and to listen live here!
DONUT 2: Where's Waldo? And Deron? And Donnie? ...
Hey, isnt that Dallas Mavericks GM Donnie Nelson in that gym alongside ... Deron Williams!? Go here on DB.com for an enlarged version of the NJ paper's photo ...
And then know that yes, that's Donnie. I visited with him late Saturday after the photo hit the web and he confirmed that he's at the Nets-hosted NBA combine ... and we all know he's pretty much the only guy between East Rutherford and Brooklyn who owns a pair of cowboy boots.
It's also interesting, if not significant, that Deron is wearing his Nets workout gear during the NBA event. Maybe it's meant as a subliminal message. Maybe it's a sign of respect for his present employer. Or maybe it's just what was sitting in his locker.
I mean, what do you think he's going to wear in the Nets gym? A DALLASBASKETBALL shirt?
DONUT 3: The Margarita Capital of Texas! ...
When you're in the neighborhood -- and what a fun neighborhood it is! -- come see the gang at Esparza's in Grapevine! The Margarita Capital of Texas and proud partners of DB.com now celebrating its 27th anniversary!
DONUT 4: Still haunting...
The Mavs were 30-2 in the regular season when leading after three quarters. No, they didn't close like they used to during this Jason Kidd era and they didn't win close games like they used to, either. But when they established themselves as the better team over the course of three quarters -- and then did that often enough -- they sealed the deal in the fourth.
Except against OKC in the playoffs. Dallas lost two games out of four when leading after three. That's right: The Mavs lost as many when-leading-after-three games in the span of a week to OKC as they did all year to the rest of the league.
DONUT 5: Game Havens and The Bay Audio Speaker Special! - ...
We all love those new “Thin” TVs – those super bright LED TVs hanging in our family rooms, game rooms and even our master bedrooms. Unfortunately the audio from these new super sleek TVs is really crappy. No impact – no umppfff – no clarity – just crappy audio.
No worries. Our very own Game Havens has got game – and has got this year’s hottest selling ticket: the Bay Audio Thin Bar a custom LCR speaker bar that perfectly matches any new or old TV hanging on your wall, your fireplace or floating in your cabinet. And in coordination with DB.com, Game Havens is doing something special – and discounting all Bay Audio speaker products 25%! That’s unheard of…especially for the “Beamer” of the speaker industry.
So check out Game Haven’s show promotions and check out Game Havens, where they will design your own game room, media room, family room or even outdoor patio entertainment system!
Also, “LIKE” Game Havens on Facebook!
DONUT 6: Interest in Jeremy Lin? ...
From a Mavs perspective? Hey, they liked him when he was a nobody (and a member of the Summer League team who earned a contract offer here). So sure, the Knicks phenom is still a source of interest here.
Logic and money say some other team can make it difficult for the Knicks to match an offer, too. (UPDATE: The pay is the same no matter offerer or matcher; but the cap hit is different.)
It's premature to link Dallas and Lin in a "news'' story. But July 1 is coming. So we're right on time in beginning to understand the dollars and sense of his circumstances.
DONUT 7: Thanks, Miller Lite! ...
At first I thought the new "Miller Lite Punch-Top'' ad was a parody. But now I've come to realize how important it is to create an air-pressure-relief hole in the top of a can to accompany the existing pour hole.
America's long-existing problem with beer traveling too slowly from can to belly is solved!!
DONUT 8: Catch the Mavs and the DB.com Staff on Twitter! ...
DONUT 9: Major projects ...
Two big stories busting out right now :
*The Mavs as "The Smartest Guys in The Room'' -- and the dangers therein.
*Connecting the Dots between Deron and Dallas ... a powerful national story we've published just now for Premium readers. Deron and the Mavs? Yes, there's a tie. Deron and SMU and "World Wide Wes''? Yes, tied up, too.
Read the story of Deron, Dallas and "World Wide Wes'' exclusively here at DallasBasketball.com!

DONUT 11: It's a copycat league, right? ...
DB.com's Chuck Perry wonders why the Mavs are the ones doing the copying. Or in other words: Are the Mavs wrong to chase the SuperTeam Era concept?
DONUT 12: The Final Word ...
So some assclown tweets to Steve Blake's wife, "I hope your family gets murdered." Mrs. Blake responds by retweeting the threat, exposing the cockroach to the light, and eventually the offending tweeter is left to offer a meek, "Go Steve!"
This isn't about "playing for the Lakers'' or "ignorant Okies'' or even about the "evils of Twitter.'' This is about the way a few of the sickest among us operate, but not just from behind the safety of a keyboard but also from the safety of a telephone or from behind the steering wheel of a car. It's not the social medium, the phone or the car; it's the Darkness of Us.
We could ban Twitter, phones, cars and even guns. I'm afraid the Darkness of Us would still, somehow and in some form, ooze out.
