The Mavs are 3-20 when trailing after three quarters. Two of those rare instances have come in their last two wins, including Wednesday's critical 95-85 win over Memphis. Credit where due; the Grizz came into town wrapping up a b2b2b. That said, this is a team that's given the good guys -- your Dallas Mavericks -- a lot of problems the past couple years.
So you take it.
Memphis held a two-point lead going into the final frame, and Dallas hasn't done well in games in which they've trailed coming into the fourth. This time, however, the D locked down, the O got flowing, and what looked like a nice confidence builder (not to mention a seeding tiebreaker) for Memphis turned into a bit of a bloodbath. Dallas ties up the season series with a 95-85 win. ... and is now tied with the Grizz for fifth in the West.
The rubber match comes Saturday in Memphis, but let's enjoy this now. You guys are aware, we award excellence around here with shiny knickknacks. Who deserves 'The Dirkie''? Mavs fans vote here!
Dirk Nowitzki -- 23 UberManly points. And 10 rebounds. Handsome double-double.
Jason Terry -- 15 points good, wings good, but 6 TOs?
Brendan Haywood -- Center A with 5 and 5 plus a dime
Roddy Beaubois -- 8 points, 5 assists, pretty save
Shawn Marion -- Can we give you a hint here? Trix scored 10 of his 16 points when the Mavericks went ahead with a 21-4 run over a 7-minute span in the fourth quarter to take control. He completely dismantled Rudy Gay. He rebounded, ran the floor for finishes and was an overall inspiration.
Ian Mahimni -- Center B with 10 boards and 4 fouls
Delonte West -- 14 points and he only missed once. Delonte and Roddy making up for Kidd? Roddelonte!
